Dr. Jan Lightfoot was born into a family where she suffered childhood trauma. Raised in that environment, it’s no surprise that she’d been predisposed to dormant psychological challenges. She was left with a need for external validation, rendering her prone to experience victimization. Her twenty-year professional career in federal government employment ended when prolonged victimization inclusive of sexual harassment and discrimination resulted in disability retirement. The work environment paralleled past trauma, which after an extended period of time broke down her defense mechanisms of denial and repression of her childhood trauma. Jan worked very hard to rehabilitate herself and find new meaning for her life. She persevered and founded the Wholeness Foundation, providing motivational forums as a Christ-centered humanitarian.
